Edward was engaged to Margaret at the age of 6 while Margaret was 5. They were both unfamiliar with each other and they thought that their marriage would not work out. However when they got slightly older, they both started to agree that they should be together no matter what. Edward loves to see Margaret sing during church and her playing the cello when she's practicing with Scarlett. His father owns a factory that specializes in making fine furniture for everyone in all of London. His father also promises Edward that when he is older, Edward would be next in line to be head of the Carpender Furniture Factory.
